Summer 2008 – SUMMIT SERVICE.

Due to the ongoing work building HAFOD ERYRI at the summit of Snowdon we are uncertain as to the exact date when the project will be completed and the summit train service will commence.

Customers are advised to call our Booking Office prior to travel , to check availability of the SUMMIT destination.

Snow, Snow and More Snow!

The weather on Snowdon has been nothing short of extreme in March and April. Contractors at the Summit have been unabe to reach the Visitor Centre for most of the days so far this year due to weather conditions.

In addition to the heavy snow, wind speeds have been exceptionally high on Snowdon preventing the trains from travelling. On Friday 11th April, a gust speed of 113 mph was recorded at Clogwyn with an average speed of 86 mph.
