Trains
The Llanberis Platform can be accessed via 2 steps or a ramp
Carriage 10 is a wheelchair accessible carriage and can accommodate one manual wheelchair. Customers requiring this carriage should contact the railway at least one day in advance of travel to advise us of their requirements. In busy periods (July, August and early September) pre-booking in advance is strongly advisable for passengers requiring wheelchairs onboard the train.
A ramp will be used at Llanberis and the Summit Station to help wheelchair passengers to embark and disembark from Carriage 10.
Passengers with limited mobility who are able to travel sitting on a standard train seat can travel in any carriage.
All other carriages are originals dating from the 1920’s and consist of compartments with bench seating.
There is insufficient space in the carriages to accommodate prams, pushchairs, children’s car seats, walking frames, mobility scooters or folded wheelchairs. These items can be left if necessary, at the owners risk on the platform, please ask a member of staff for assistance.
Trains may stop at Rocky Valley (just over half way) or Clogwyn (three-quarters
of the way to the Summit). Both destinations do not have facilities or platforms.
Passengers in a wheelchair will not be able to exit the train at these stops.
